Reinstalling DCP Transfer cleanly
Each DCP Transfer release ships with a Paragon ExtFS build matched to current macOS. An older Paragon build left on the Mac after a macOS upgrade is a common reason the drive won't mount, so when in doubt, remove everything and start fresh.
When to do this
- You upgraded macOS and DCP Transfer stopped working.
- You moved to a new Mac by copying apps across or using Migration Assistant.
- You installed a Paragon ExtFS build from somewhere other than the DCP Transfer installer.
Steps
- Quit DCP Transfer.
- Run the DCP Transfer uninstaller if you have one. Otherwise, drag DCP Transfer from Applications to the Trash.
- Restart the Mac.
- Download the latest installer from the DCP Transfer Help page and follow Installing DCP Transfer from step 1, including the restarts.
You don't need to remove Paragon ExtFS yourself. The installer removes any older Paragon version before it installs the current one.
Keep your license code handy, since you'll enter it again after reinstalling.
